Side A: The tide comes in; the tide goes out. That which is shall cease to be, and that which was shall come again. Only impermanence endures. This law of nature applies equally to the leviathan that sports and the ruined city that rots beneath the waves; the sea swallows and restores god and mortal alike. Side B: The deliquescing gray-green creatures gather around the slimy altar. Blasphemous chants slither forth from their throats, summoning our doom. Blackness descends from the heavens. Listening to Blood Tower feels like remembering fragments of that cool dream you thought you’d completely forgotten. Vibrant purple mushrooms nod lazily overhead while you inhale their hallucinogenic spores. Walking on you spy some trolls cracking man-bones and sucking out the marrow. Looking up you smile at a perfect spiderweb bejeweled with dew. An armored company passes with dour visage, bound for a terrible battle. And many more delightful DS visions to inspire the mythmaker in all of us. Dave Aftandilian
